What has to be taken into account with electric fence gates?
Basically you have to be aware that: fence gates are often a weak spot in the fence. The fact that animals pushing each other on the pasture exit in different situations, require that fence gates needs extra security from breaking out. Normally the electricity is carried on with a underground cable underneath a gate, which needs a bit of digging. Both facts result in keeping pasture entrances as low as possible.
The safest and most comfortable gate solutions are permanent, hot dipped galvanised metal gates with suitable locking systems. There are single or double gate solutions in different widths.
Besides the permanent gates there are also non permanent fencing gates available. They consist of insulated gate handles with sprung hang-in hooks, conductors, mounting parts onto the fence and – at wind up gates – a winding up unit for the conductor material. For building a gate there are as many gate sets needed as many conductor lines the fence has. At winding up gates the conductors are winded up as the gate is opened. That brings various advantages: the conductor are not getting dirty, no short circuits can occur and – as an important security factor – stumbling traps for human and animal are avoided.
Similar advantages bring gate springs, which contract when opening the gate. But gate springs are only suitable for cattle.

Large gate handle set for trouble-free opening of the fence without ground contact. The 40 mm wide gate tape winds up automatically at opening. Pulls out up to 15 m.
